prue newton & the padi womens dive day

Meet Prue Newton, one of our OG's at Universal Apnea and a host of the PADI 10th Annual Womens Dive Day in Tasmania this weekend.


Prue is a Maritime Archaeologist and Commercial Diver based in NSW. She is a former confined space rescue diver - cave and wreck diving specialist and sits on our UA emergency services committee sharing a wealth of knowlege and experience in marine rescue situations.


Prue's education includes a Masters in Maritime Archaeology (MMarArchaeol) from Flinders University, Adelaide and a Bachelor of Arts - Archaeology (First Class Honours (B.Arts, Hons) from Sydney University. She would have to be one of the most elite, educated and experienced humans in the aquatic rescue scene in the world. Proud much? Yes, we are.


We hope you can join us this weekend, Saturday 20th July 2024 at 8.30am at Blackman’s Bay - Southern End for the PADI morning dive with an amazing group of women.


Evening events include a 5:30pm dinner, Q and A, documentary, raffles and prizes!
